The Malay Heritage Centre Museum

Tuesday to Sunday

10am – 6pm (Last admission at 5.30pm)

Tuesday to Friday

Opens at 9:00 am for school groups (Advanced booking is required)

Closed on Mondays.

 

Admission

Admission is FREE OF CHARGE for all from now till 30 October 2022.

 

 

SCHOOL VISITS TO MALAY HERITAGE CENTRE

For school group visits and guided tour requests to the Malay Heritage Centre, please submit the booking form and our Visitor Services Team will get back to you with a confirmation email. Bookings should be made at least 4 weeks in advance of your visit.

Visitors must keep their masks on during the visit.

How to Get There

Carpark Facilities

If you are driving, you can park your vehicles at the public carparks along Aliwal Street, Kandahar Street and Pahang Street or at the multi-storey carparks at Textile Centre and Sultan Plaza. Parking charges are applicable.

Public Transport

By MRT:

Alight at Bugis (EW12) station. MHC is about 10 minutes walk from the train station.

By Bus

From North Bridge Road: Bus service no. 7, 32, 51, 63, 80, 145 & 197.
From Victoria Street: Bus service no. 2, 7, 12, 32, 33, 51, 63, 80, 130, 133, 145, & 197.
From Beach Road: Bus service no. 10, 14, 16, 70, 100, 107, 196 & 401.

Museum Etiquette

To fully appreciate the exhibitions and for the comfort of all visitors, please switch your mobile phones to silent mode and refrain from talking or laughing loudly. No running in the galleries.

Commercial Filming

Still photography for private, non-commercial use as a visitor to the Museum is allowed. The use of a flash and tripod is prohibited.

Venue Rental

The Auditorium at the Malay Heritage Centre offers a flexible event space for meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and theatre performances. Comfortable air-conditioned seating arrangements accommodate up to 140 guests (without projection) and 80 guests (with projection).

Public Guided Tours

Permanent Gallery of the Malay Heritage Centre

  • Weekdays (Tuesday - Friday, 11.00am)
  • Every Saturday, 2.00pm

  • Every 3rd Saturday of the month, 1.00pm

 

To ensure a conducive tour experience, the group size for guided tours is limited to a maximum of 15 (excluding guide). You are encouraged to check in with our front desk on the tour schedule.

 

Please note that all participants of our guided tours will be required to adhere to safe management measures as indicated on the Checklist of Safe Measurement Measures for Museum Stakeholders that is available on NHB's website. These include:

  • Participants to wear masks at all times.
  • Participants to sanitise their hands prior to the start of the tour.
  • Participants should refrain from speaking loudly.

The estimated duration for each guided tour is 45 minutes.
