Singapore has moved into Phase Three and we’re happy to welcome you to the Malay Heritage Centre.
The well-being of our visitors and staff remains our primary concern. For your safety, safe management measures will be implemented during your visit. These include:
- The use of SafeEntry upon entry and exit
- Temperature taking
- Safe-distancing of at least one metre at all times
- Wearing of mask at all times
- No more than 8 visitors for group visits.

The Malay Heritage Centre compound is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8am to 9pm.
Closed on Mondays.

School Visits to Malay Heritage Centre
School learning journeys to the Malay Heritage Centre will be resuming from 9 November onwards.
School bookings are only available for the following dates until further notice:
Guidelines:
- Each time slot can accommodate one (1) class of visitors, i.e. up to 50 participants (including all students, teachers and parent volunteers). In accordance with MOE's guidelines, teachers are to note that all activities must maintain a 1 metre safe distancing measure and be reconfigured to multiple groups of 5 with 1 metre between groups.
- All visits should conclude within the stipulated time slot to ensure no intermingling with other schools or classes.
- All participants are required to check-in and check-out via SafeEntry. Hence, students must bring their ez-link student pass for scanning or be able to recite their own NRIC number.
- Only free and easy self-guided visit to the Malay Heritage Centre is available now. For a list of our self-guided resources to complement your visit, please visit the following:
- Please visit the Malay Heritage Centre ahead of your learning journey to familiarise with the space and safe distancing measures. You may also wish to attend the regular guided tours to learn more about the narrative of our exhibitions.

How to Get There
Carpark Facilities
If you are driving, you can park your vehicles at the public carparks along Aliwal Street, Kandahar Street and Pahang Street or at the multi-storey carparks at Textile Centre and Sultan Plaza. Parking charges are applicable.
Public Transport
By MRT:
Alight at Bugis (EW12) station. MHC is about 10 minutes walk from the train station.
By Bus
From North Bridge Road: Bus service no. 7, 32, 51, 63, 80, 145 & 197.
From Victoria Street: Bus service no. 2, 7, 12, 32, 33, 51, 63, 80, 130, 133, 145, & 197.
From Beach Road: Bus service no. 10, 14, 16, 70, 100, 107, 196 & 401.

Museum Etiquette
To fully appreciate the exhibitions and for the comfort of all visitors, please switch your mobile phones to silent mode and refrain from talking or laughing loudly. No running in the galleries.

Still photography for private, non-commercial use as a visitor to the Museum is allowed. The use of a flash and tripod is prohibited.

Guided Tours
The group size of our guided tours are limited to a maximum of eight pax (excluding guide), and limited to no more than eight pax in any one sub-group. You are encouraged to check in with our front desk on the tour schedule, and register for your preferred tour slot ahead of your visit. Please note that all participants of our guided tours will be required to adhere to safe management measures as indicated on the Checklist of Safe Measurement Measures for Museum Stakeholders (Phase 3) advisory that is available on NHB’s website. These include:
- Participants to use hand sanitisers or wash their hands with soap and water prior to start of tour.
- Participants to wear masks at all times.
- Participants from different sub-groups should not intermingle, and should maintain at least 1 metre spacing from other groups.
- Participants should refrain from speaking loudly.
Guided tours – Max 8 participants per session
+ Subject to availability. Please call ahead to confirm the availability of a
docent.
*Guided tour is free of charge.
*Based on availability of volunteer guides & on first come first serve basis.
*Estimated duration for each guided tour is 30 to 45 minutes.
*Meeting point will be at Visitor Services Centre.
*Tours are unavailable during the volunteer guides' annual break from end December to early January, and
selected public holidays.

Our guided tours are temporarily unavailable, however we are working with our volunteer guides to resume them soon. Do look out for updates here, or via our social media channels.
